November 2007 -
• November, 2007. Attorneys Borchers and Swartz address lawyers at a National Business Institute Seminar Probate Start to Finish on settling estates in Massachusetts offered in Boston and Worcester.

September 2007-
• Attorneys Guglielmo and Ware announce the second pre-launch event of the Exit Planning Exchange, a consortium of advisors in the field of planning a successful exit from one's business, event to be held at Dedham Hilton featuring "the original" Tom Brady speaking on ESOP's: Employee Stock Option Plans, and the first committee meetings of the budding regional organization.

• The firm is pleased to announce the return of Paralegal Patti Draper to the Real Estate and Probate Departments and in the position of Business Manager for the firm.

• Atty. Borchers will speak at a National Business Institute continuing education program for lawyers and CPA's on “Key Issues in Estate Planning and Probate”. Topics included will be Planning for Incapacity, Taxes After Death and Selected Probate Law issues.

June, 2007 -
•  Atty Borchers is a panel speaker at a NBI sponsored seminar on June 25. The topic is “Refining Your Probate Skills: Streamlining Processes and Overcoming Obstacles.”

• Atty Guglielmo on June 14 hosting an Executive Briefing on “What Every Business Owner Should Know About Exit Planning” at the Franklin Country Club.

May, 20007 -
• Atty Guglielmo traveled to Quebec for 5 days in May to attend the 2007 Valmark Leaders Conference that was held at the historically famous Le Chateau Frontenac.

• Attys Borchers and Swartz will be attending the 10th Annual National Conference of Wealth Counsel, LLC in Washington, D.C., a premiere event for those in the estate planning community, with plenary sessions presented by nationally renowned speakers, and in-depth workshops regarding timely and relevant planning strategies.

•  Atty Swartz, sponsored by the MA Bar Associations’ Law Day, will be speaking about the alternatives to nursing home care on May, 30 at Franklin Senior Center and June 21 at Attleboro Senior Center.

•  Dan Guglielmo spoke to the Harwich Men’s Club on the topic of Exit Planning. He spoke to the many business owners in the room about how to eventually sell or transfer their businesses and enjoy the proceeds during retirement. He explained that most business owners do not put an exit plan in place soon enough and usually do not know how to proactively position their businesses to attract the most opportunities, promote an easier sale, and realize the greatest value.

•  Ron Ware completed a series of Cutting Edge Retirement Strategies presentations at local area restaurants. He spoke on a number of issues such as preserving retirement savings, balancing college planning with retirement planning, and how to make sure your income lives as long as you do. He will be doing another series of these popular presentations in the Fall.

April, 2007  -
•  Attorneys Swartz and Darmofal spoke at the Generations Breakfast Seminar held at Medway Country Manor regarding “Legal Strategies for Seniors. Estate Planning, Advanced Directives, Wills, and MassHealth Eligibility Updates”. Common traps and misconceptions of the purpose and use of estate plans and the necessity of estate planning were highlighted.

•  Attorney Guglielmo presented “Cutting Edge Retirement Strategies” to approximately 45 business owners and retired executives in Hyannis, MA.

March, 2007  -
•  Attorney Borchers was reelected to a 5 year term on the Medfield Library Trust Fund.

•  Attorney Guglielmo presented an Executive Briefing on Exit Planning to approximately 20 business owners.

•  Attorney Guglielmo attended the Boston Estate Planning Counsel's Meeting entitled: What's New and What's Left in Sophisticated Estate Planning Techniques for "Wealthy" Clients--"Freezes," "Squeezes," and "Frozen Squeezes" by Larry Brody.
