Maana Hickson, Esq., Of Counsel
Maana is an elder law attorney, admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 2009. Prior to admission, she served as an estate planning and elder paralegal and then law clerk for approximately seven years. Drawing upon this depth of experience, Maana counsels and advocates for her clients in all aspects of elder law, including estate planning for long-term care, advising on eligibility for MassHealth (Massachusetts Medicaid) benefits, and preparing and filing MassHealth applications and appeals, both for long-term care benefits and home-based and community-based services.
Maana earned her law degree from New England Law in Boston, and her undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, with a major in legal studies and a minor in psychology. She is an active member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), including its Massachusetts Chapter, and has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” in 2017, 2018, and 2019.
When Maana is not practicing law, she enjoys spending time with her family. She resides in Wellesley, with her husband, Joe, and their two young sons. She enjoys spending time with them down on the Cape during the summer and skiing in the winter.
